A Brief History of Kahuna Ventures

Kahuna Ventures was formed in 1999 by Gary Davis, to provide engineering consulting and project execution for the design and construction of a sour gas plant near Jackson, Mississippi During the course of the bid process, Gary was also solicited by the client to build, own, and operate the plant, which was ultimately constructed, owned, and operated by Kahuna Gas until it was sold in July 2004.

Scott Schamp, PE, joined Kahuna Ventures in 2000 to help manage the design and construction of the Jackson, MS plant and to focus on the construction and operation of the plant. As the plant became operational, Kahuna Ventures began performing engineering consulting for additional clients in the Western US region.  In 2002, Kahuna Ventures began pursuing additional engineering and project execution business and expanded to a full time consulting engineering firm.  John Rheinheimer, PE, joined Kahuna in 2002 and the team focused on attracting additional clients and taking on more consulting. In 2005 Gregg Kostelecky joined the Kahuna Team as the Sr. Electrical Engineer bringing experience and knowledge to the I&E phases of Kahuna Venture’s managed projects.
